DC Metro Moms Bloggers Event Totally Rocks!

Blogger Moms = Amazing Women

What do get when you’re surrounded by a gaggle of smart women in small room?  Energy, energy, energy!  And a whole lotta’ love.

I consider myself a total newbie in the blog world.  In fact, I’m pretty much still in the womb.  I have not even skimmed the surface of the power of blogdom and what it can do for me.  Or should I say what I can do for it.  Well, I just met 50 women on Sunday at the DC Metro Moms event who can and have.  Let me tell you that it’s pretty darn amazing.  This, for most of them, is only their part-time thing.  As many of them said, they do it for fun. What I mean by “fun” is that they spend hours and hours writing about their experiences on their own blog and others, they provide advice and resources, they test and share products,  and connect, connect, connect with the community and each other.  The rest of the time they work hard in a job and/or take care of their kids and loved ones, which (as we all know) is no small task.

This event was a little thank you to them for all their hard work and fabulous female intuition.  After a Q&A period with one another, they were treated to yummy eats and drinks with a room full of sponsors to chat and learn about.

DC Metro Moms is a chapter of SV (Silicon Valley) Moms Group. They are a “collaborative group of moms writing about their lives in Washington, D.C [and surrounding area]., where moms live and work in the shadow of the Capitol, Beltway driving is the adventure sport of choice, the Mall is flanked by national monuments instead of anchor stores, and bipartisan playdates easily gain constituency approval.” When you visit them (and I know you will) make sure you look at the far right hand column at the list of contributors and visit their blogs, too.  Those are the rockin’ blogger moms I met.

This is only a snippet from the event coverage.  When I say there are 50 fantastic women with a ton of knowledge to learn from, I’m not kidding.
